Portland & Atlanta CME: Only from IHHS
We live in interesting times: Despite a depressed global economy, there recently has been a universal outpouring of compassion and donations for people who are suffering and in need. It’s true that challenging times can inspire great acts of generosity and kindness; they draw out one of the most beautiful aspects of the human spirit--the act of giving.
The IHHS is asking all healthcare providers to consider this generous approach in offering treatment to patients who have hyperhidrosis. The need for well qualified doctors and other medical professionals is great, but the numbers who offer treatment remains extremely limited.
David M. Pariser, MD, current President of the American Academy of Dermatology and founding board member of the IHHS sums up this approach to providing care to his patients with excessive sweating: "Treating hyperhidrosis leads to greater improvement of a patient's quality of life than treatment of any other dermatologic disorder."
The IHHS, in partnership with Eastern Virginia Medical School, is once again offering two outstanding opportunities this spring for all healthcare providers to get their hyperhidrosis diagnosis and treatment skills into top form.
"Advanced Approach to Hyperhidrosis Diagnosis, Treatment, and Practice Integration" will be held in Portland, OR at the Hotel Monaco on Saturday, April 10, 2010 and Atlanta, GA at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead on June 5, 2010. The IHHS has negotiated outstanding room rates and parking discounts for attendees at both of these beautiful venues; parties must identify as part of the IHHS group to get these discounts and rates. Reservations for the Portland session must be made by March 26, 2010 and by May 14, 2010 for the Atlanta session.
These sessions offer attendees dynamic, state-of-the-art, live-patient training, from the foremost experts in the field, David M. Pariser, MD, IHHS Secretary and Dee Anna Glaser, MD, IHHS President and founding board member, as well as other highly regarded professionals, will be leading these seminars. This program is worth 5.5 AMA PRA Category 1 credits. Attendees will leave this one-day seminar fully prepared to provide all types of hyperhidrosis patients with the best possible care.
The cost of registration for physicians and researchers is $165; physician staff, including physician assistants, nurses, and billing and coding staff, can attend at no extra cost. Cost for industry representatives is $495.
The itinerary is a morning lecture and discussion segment that is focused on hyperhidrosis basics, including topical therapies, iontophoresis, Botox treatments of axillary and non axillary hyperhidrosis, and incorporating office staff into patient treatment and management.
The afternoon session is devoted to live-patient instruction. Local physicians, alongside members of the expert panel, will provide hyperhidrosis treatment with Botox or iontophoresis, as necessary, to their patient volunteers. The demonstrations will be done in small group settings so all participants will experience optimal learning.
As added incentive: Attendance of this CME will earn participants a gold star in our Physician Finder database. Now, patients searching for treatment will know whom to call first.
This is the third year that the IHHS has been able to offer these specialized CME’s. They have become a key component of our educational program, in part because of the overwhelmingly positive feedback we receive from seminar attendees. We are indeed accomplishing our mission if we are able to impart the best diagnostic tools and training to other medical professionals; even more so if we are able to inspire them to make hyperhidrosis care part of their practice, providing real relief to patients who so desperately need it.
Come and tap into the wealth of knowledge we’ll have gathered together at each of these beautiful venues. Register today; these events sell out quickly.
